"Always do and rarely luck out to get it," Bucky agrees. "Steve, of course, but Steve isn't always running around to save my ass and especially not anymore. I have to find new people, I guess, even though the idea of opening up to someone makes me want to eat glass."

Wanda is different. She'd had his back once, yes, but he also knows that she'd been with HYDRA before she'd joined the Avengers. HYDRA isn't kind to their personnel, voluntary or not, and he doesn't know how much he believes about Wanda being a volunteer.

"I know what you're capable of and you know what I can do. You protect me, I protect you. Doesn't matter how that shakes out."
