“Frank, you’re—” Karen wrinkles her eyebrows. Frank Castle being worried about Karen Page was nothing new on Earth or here, apparently, but Karen was still kind of surprised that he was so cagey at a party. It made her nervous because he was usually right. When Frank said danger was around the corner, it usually was, so she looks at him with pure concern in her eyes.

I’d thought this was finally a place we could feel safe. God, how am I supposed to make Frank Castle feel safe? He deserves at least that much.

“I just think this drink is doing funny things to my head.” She shrugs as if it’s no big deal. “Maybe it’s too strong.”

Placing a hand on Frank’s shoulder, Karen smiles softly at him.

“You certainly seem tightly wound.”
